It has been a jammed-packed couple of weeks here in 4th Class from Irish Dancing, to Lava Lamps, Easter Chocolate nests and the Vikings!
In Maths, 4th Class have been learning long multiplication. They have all showed excellent perseverance with this, using our multiplication wheels to help. We will continue looking at Long Multiplication after Easter.
In English, we dusted off the cobwebs and refreshed our memories looking at different sentence types: simple, complex and compound. We also spent time revisiting adjectives, comparative adjectives and of course, the very important but often forgotten, punctuation!
Things got very bubbly in Science this week. We had fun with density, observing how oil, water, fairy liquid, milk and honey react with each other. We also made Lava Lamps by using oil, water, food colouring. We added an effervescent tablet which created a beautiful chemical reaction and brought the lava lamp to life!
This week we have enjoyed making Easter Cards as Gaeilge and making delicious chocolate nests.
In music lessons, we have been learning about common insturments used in Irish Music, including the fiddle, guitar, uileann pipes and the button acordian. We were SO inspired and impressed by Emma’s courage and talent when she treated us to an Irish Dance. Well done Emma!
Have a restful Easter Break everyone and see you soon!
