Bí Cineálta Policy

Anti-Bullying at Kildare Town ETNS

At Kildare Town Educate Together NS, every child deserves to feel safe, valued and empowered. We take bullying seriously, we are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive community where all children can thrive.

Our approach is rooted in Bí Cineálta, the Department of Education’s child-centred procedures to prevent and address bullying behaviour in schools. These procedures guide how we recognise, respond to and report bullying, and they support partnership between school, home and the wider community in tackling harmful behaviour.

We work proactively to build a culture of kindness and positive relationships. This includes age-appropriate lessons on respect, empathy and online safety as well as clear steps for supporting pupils who experience or witness bullying.

For families who want more information or extra support, we recommend the following Irish resources:

The Department of Education also offers official guidance for parents and schools on anti-bullying policies and procedures, including how complaints can be progressed if you believe the school hasn’t fully addressed a concern.

If you have any concerns about bullying, please reach out to us — we’re here to listen, support and work with you to make every child’s school experience a positive one.
