As well as working hard at our core subjects, making mighty progress in multiplication, leaping through literacy and growing our grá for Gaeilge, we have been knees deep in creative projects this month. Using shoe boxes and found materials we created imaginary worlds in diorama format. These 3D art works have been guided completely by imagination which time and time again prove to be amazingly unlimited. Imagination may be more important than knowledge, as Einstein famously wrote.
Inspired by the painting ‘Tiger in a Tropical Storm’ by Henri Rousseau, we put on our Geographer’s hats and researched the tropical areas of our planet, the rain forests and the harmful effects of deforestation. We drew pictures of toucans and worked in groups to create posters to illustrate our learning.
