Senior Infants have been super busy this term settling back in, learning and exploring! Our Aistear theme was the Baby Clinic and everyone enjoyed taking on the role of doctors, nurses, receptionists and parents. We looked at our own baby pictures to see how much we have grown and changed, we decided some of us don’t look too different now! In maths, we did lots of matchings/sorting, number formation, adding to 6 and 2D shapes. We learned that shapes are all around us and carried out shape hunts and investigations as a class. Our class loves stories, so we have had great fun reading books together, making predictions and connections and coming up with alternative endings to our favourite stories! In SESE we sequenced stories such as The Scarecrow’s Wedding and Room on the Broom. We also searched for signs of Autumn and wrote about Autumn using our 5 senses. Lastly, we sequenced timelines (toys, human growth timelines) and looked at the seasons of the year. Art is a favourite of the class and we have created lovely artwork including self portraits, family portraits, scarecrow heads and ghosts. The Witches Walk was a fantastic day and we had great fun at our class party, playing games and eating treats! What a fun-filled first term it has been! Check out our class Seesaw for pictures!
