We have been super busy in Senior Infants since Christmas. In Aistear, we have been learning about the Restaurant. We have been busy making towns out of blocks, pretending to be chefs, waiters and customers, drawing pictures of delicious meals, and even made a pizza oven out of construction materials for our Playdoh pizzas!
We have also been getting active in the classroom and taking lots of activity breaks to stretch and keep our bodies moving. We find the breaks really help us to concentrate on our work!
We are so lucky to have our wonderful library just across the hall so we have been going to the library every Thursday afternoon to read books. It is lovely and peaceful in the library.
We have also been learning about the work of the artist Mondrian. We liked the way he used lines and primary colours in his abstract work. We decided to make our own Mondrian pictures. They look so good we have them in the hallway for all the children in the school to look at!
