Hi everyone! Can you believe our first months of schools are over? Junior Infants have had such an exciting time settling in, making new friends and learning through fun.
Spooky fun for Halloween We had so much fun making spooky Halloween pictures including Bat cards and pumpkins. We also went out to our outdoor classroom to draw some spooky witches on our individual whiteboards ! We drew some amazing pictures! We also enjoyed a party and a Halloween cartoon movie!
In maths we sorted things by colour and item, and we looked at how to represent data by placing a sticker on our favourite character from The Gruffalo after we read it. We also spent some time on making patterns and playing fun pattern games. In junior infants we love giving our items a bath (putting them in the box to be washed) after we use them, so they are clean for the next time we need them.
In Science and Geography we have been have been learning about our school, our community and Autumn. We used the school grounds to go on a nature hunt. Inside the class we were learning about light and shadows and we made a spooky shadow handprint , which was sent home
In History we were learning about when we were babies, and we created a lovely timeline of our lives.
In Aistear, our learn from play time we have been learning all about the school, and different types of homes. We were very busy in the Playdough small world, construction and role play areas.
We also made pumpkin pictures and Halloween cards for spooky Halloween!!
Have a fantastic mid term and stay safe everyone! Looking forward to having everyone back happy and healthy !
