Pumpkins, potions and weaving webs

There has been much excitement in the run up to Halloween in Sirius!

Pupils wove spider webs using sticks and wool. We have also been learning all about pumpkins. We learned about the life cycle of pumpkins, labelled the different parts of pumpkins and then of course carved them. The smell as we were scooping out the pulp wasn’t very popular but all were pleased with the end products.

On Wednesday, we had a lot of fun creating magic potions. We have been working on the language of capacity and got to practice using vocabulary such as full/empty/half-empty while creating our Witch’s Potions. The final ingredient was a sprinkling of some magic powder which made the potion bubble and fizz which created great excitement!
