For Parents

KTETNS Parents Hub

All our parents & guardians are automatically members of the KTETNS Parent’s Hub, and since our school first opened its doors in August 2012, it has played a vital role in our school’s growth.

Parents & Guardians first came together to provide social activities for families to get to know each other and raise funds from the local community for our school – meaning we don’t need to ask for voluntary contributions from our families.

These events are so important when we have many families who are new to the area, who can help & support each other in small ways that make a big difference.

Each class has a representative to facilitate communication and practical support through messaging groups.

Over the years, the Committee has changed, but they have established templates & plans to ensure ongoing guidance for the annual events.

The Parent’s Hub is an integral part of our school, and if you join us, we hope you will enjoy being part of it too!

Homework

We surveyed the Children, Parents and Teachers about homework. The results were very interesting. There were as many different opinions on homework as there are children. The challenge for us was to find an approach that acted on the survey results and yet not ignore families with different opinions.

We feel that we have come up with a compromise that could work for our school.  As always, we are constantly reviewing what works in our school and homework is no different. We will be updating our policy soon and at the end of the year we will evaluate how the year has gone and whether any changes need to be made for the coming year.

If you have any questions, just contact us and we can discuss them.
