School Self-Evaluation (SSE) is the process schools use to reflect on how well we are supporting children’s learning and wellbeing, and to plan carefully for improvement. It involves staff working together to review evidence, listen to the views of pupils and parents, and identify priorities for development.
SSE helps ensure that changes in our school are thoughtful, well-planned and focused on what matters most for our children.
At Kildare Town Educate Together NS, we use School Self-Evaluation (SSE) to help us reflect on our work and plan carefully for our children’s learning and wellbeing. Over the past number of years, we have focused strongly on supporting pupils’ wellbeing, developing positive relationships, restorative approaches and nurture supports across the school. We have also introduced new, research-based approaches to literacy, helping children to build strong foundations in reading, spelling and writing, alongside continued success in mathematics.
Our teachers regularly take part in professional learning to ensure teaching and learning continues to improve. By listening to the views of pupils, parents and staff, we have identified Gaeilge as an area for future development. This ongoing reflection helps us ensure that every child feels supported, confident and ready to learn.
